Human Trafficing & Swedish Sex Trade Permitted
Prosecutor failed to press charges three and a half years ago
The sex trade involving Russian women could have been stopped three and a half years ago, but the prosecutor chose not to press any charges.
It was back in 2003 during a police investigation, when a woman said that she had come to Sweden with her boyfriend (one of the men who are now charged with pimping the Russian prostitutes), to become a prostitute. A woman called Tatiana, who today has confessed to pimping women, arranged with an apartment and showed the way to the “red light district†in Gothenburg…
Another Russian woman was also found in that same “red light districtâ€, and she gave information that could tie her to the people who are no standing trial.
The prosecutor still felt that they had too little proof of a crime being committed back then. So when the decision came to drop the investigation, the stake out of an apartment (later it was clear that this is where the prostituted women had been staying) stopped.
The woman, Tatiana, and one man have confessed to pimping Russian women. Two other men haven’t confessed to anything, they are denying all charges.
The 20 “johns†involved in this trial are being called in to testify and stand trial starting on the16th of May.

Swedish Prostitution/Trafficking Court Case
Two of the pimps involved in the big court case here in Gothenburg have now confessed to their crimes. One man and one woman are now confessing to the charges against them.
20 men are being charged with having bought sex from Russian prostitutes.
We have a friend who lives in the Netherlands, where prostitution is LEGAL, and the other day when I was talking to her in instant messages, she said she was going to watch Oprah. She said that she didn’t really like the constant commercial breaks, though – I said well who does – and she then told me that at night time (one would hope way after all Dutch children have gone to bed!) the commercials on TV are mostly about sex, call girls, clubs, you name it! That’s one of the downsides with living in a country that has made prostitution legal, I suppose…
(Prostitution in the Netherlands has been legal since January 1988, when it was defined as a legal profession. However, prostitutes must be at least 18, while for non-commercial sex the age of consent is 16. Clients must be at least 16. Violation of either age limit is a crime for the other party, and possibly for a pimp.
The legalized status allows prostitutes to have access to the social security system, since 1996 sex workers have paid income tax, and reforms in 1999 gave prostitution the same status as any other form of labor. Prostitutes form unions, and are otherwise treated like any other self-employed trades person. Advertising their services is likewise tolerated.
Health and social services are readily available, but the women are not required to undergo regular health checks. A recent study found that despite health rules, about 7 percent of Dutch prostitutes have HIV/AIDS. )

Prager H3: Compassion should be applied in the personal arena. Standards should be applied in the public arena. Too often compassion is applied in both. But standards in both can be a mistake, too. Best of Prager Hour. Originally recorded on October 3, 2006.

Sweden To Be The Baby Grinder of Europe
Many people in Sweden are opposed to the proposition to open up Swedish Abortion clinics to the entire population of the European Union. The question has been asked, why should Sweden’s already burdened Health Care System now be flooded with a stream of women from every European Country.Swedish People are saying that Sweden should remain prominent as a Business, Tourism and Trade destination and not become notorious for being an Abortion Tourism Destination.
It is strongly felt by many that the medical procedure of abortion should be available to all women. At the same time it is also believed to be a practice that is all to common. Abortions should be rare.
Sex education should again focus on birth control and safe sex and not be focused on the politics of groups seeking special treatment for various sexuality. Sex education should be Sex Education and not political and social indoctrination.
Sweden should not have the shame of being the baby grinder of Europe.
Abortion law battle rages on
The Christian Democratic Party’s suggested new law on abortion would give foreign women only in Sweden temporarily to have abortions at Swedish hospitals.
This is being highly criticized by – people within the Christian Democratic party!
It is the Swedish Social minister and Christian Democratic Party leader Göran Hägglund who now is handing in the suggestion, despite the critique from within his own party.
Several Crhistian Democratic Party members now fear a wave of “abortion tourismâ€, and openly attack the fact that Hägglund has been the one pushing the issue.
In February two church leaders wanted to get a boycott going against the government alliance.
The government is also going to work out a national plan in order to reduce unwanted pregnancies, and a work group will be chosen for this.
Hägglund himself says that the way he sees it the woman herself is the one who is suppose to make the decisions. Turning down this new proposal might be forcing twomen who could have been helped here in Sweden to have illegal and unsafe abortions performed in her home country.
He sees this proposal along with the national plan as a way to FEWER abortions, not MORE.
