Saudi women challenge driving banA group of women in Saudi Arabia is for the first time to lobby the kingdom’s government for the right to drive cars. Members of the Committee of Demanders of Women’s Right to Drive Cars plan to deliver a petition to King Abdullah by Sunday, Saudi Arabia’s National Day. Correspondents say the demand is likely to be rejected, as conservatives argue if women are allowed to drive, they will be able to mix freely with men.
The issue of women driving has recently become the subject of public debate.
Two years ago, a member of the Consultative Council sparked a heated debate when he pointed out there was nothing under Islamic law or the constitution that justified the ban, and that the council ought to discuss ways of lifting it. Mohammed al-Zulfa’s comments later prompted the Saudi interior minister to dismiss calls for the ban to be lifted, saying the country had other priorities. ‘Social issue’ The current driving ban applies to all women in Saudi Arabia, whatever their nationality. – Source –

Swedes Protest against visiting Iranian foreign minister
Swedes Protest against visiting Iranian foreign minister
Human Rights & Women’s Rights in Iran were on the minds of up to 200 protesters in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday. Iran has been refusing to grant woman equal rights, Iran has been imprisoning political opposition. Perhaps worst of all Iran has ignored all international diplomatic efforts and has been continued it’s uranium enrichment and Nuclear Weapons Program. The UN Security Council imposed new sanctions on Iran in March and has demanded the country suspend its uranium enrichment programme.
Protesters in Sweden were angered that Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was allowed to enter Sweden and address Swedish Institute of International Affairs. Police gathered while eggs were thrown in protest from the shouting crowd.
Swedish newspapers published articles from Swedish publishing and writers’ organizations in which Carl Bildt and Maud Olofsson are urged to issue a strong protest against the Iranian regime’s mistreatment of women pushing for equal rights in the country.
Two weeks ago, two leading figures in the Iranian women’s movement were each sentenced to three years in prison for “conspiracy with the intention of damaging national security”. The two women, Parvin Ardalan and Nooshin Ahmadi Khorosani, were among the instigators of a campaign for equal rights which managed to gather one million supportive signatures. The authors of Monday’s article called for the verdict against the women to be overturned and for Foreign Minister Bildt and Deputy Prime Minister Olofsson to encourage the EU to take action on their behalf. Several Iranian women’s organizations in Sweden have condemned the Swedish government for allowing Mottaki to visit. They have also called for Sweden to break off all political and cultural ties with Iran.

Prager – Khalid Mohammed, Troop Moral & Burqua Chic
Thursday March 15, 2007 Dennis Prager
Terror Mastermind Confesses
Prager H1: Dennis reads the list of operations Khalid Mohammed confesses to be responsible for and then draws some powerful conclusions… Dennis talks to Sergeant Josh Hauser, combat correspondent for the Marine Corps in Iraq, about the morale of our troops there.
The Mind of the Universe
Prager H2: Dennis talks to Gerald Schroeder, nuclear physicist and best selling author of The Hidden Face of God: Science Reveals the Ultimate Truth. They discuss the nature of God and the concept of the afterlife… Also, Dennis has praise for Hillary Clinton’s recent statement that we have to keep troops in Iraq. How it will play with her liberal friends is another matter.
Burqua Chic
Prager H3: A high school girl puts on a burqua to learn about prejudice. The lesson becomes that our intolerant society is the problem, not the twisted one that puts women in this prison garb… Jury votes to put child killer in Florida to death. The vote was 10-2. One wonders what the two were thinking?

Media Madness & Stem Cell pipe dreams/NIGHTMARES
The Media is all for Stem Cell research and the sheep are all lined up in the Universities.
The students will rush out of class to protest genetic engineering of wheat but will fall in line when scientists make thousands of little babies in jars and kill them just before they become Hollywood monsters.
Maybe the mound Bush is standing on in the cartoon is a pile of dead babies covered by Liberal Media Mud.
The Media is all for killing babies but try and execute on Murderer and they are all agast.

Marriage and Democracy in Massachusetts
Last year more than 170,000 Massachusetts voters signed petitions to qualify for the 2008 ballot an amendment. An amendment that would define marriage in the Bay State as between one man and one woman–as it was prior to the judicial decree from their state supreme court in 2003.

On this week’s Townhall.com Weekend Journal: Hugh Hewitt speaks with columnist Michael Barone on the day of Ford’s death about the 38th President of the United States and the difficult times that the Ford presidency inherited; Michael Medved points out that there are some similarities between former President Ford and current President Bush; Dennis Prager shows why Saddam’s hanging was a great opportunity to evaluate the flaw in those opposed to the death penalty; and Nancy Pelosi was quick to claim her Speaker of the House position as a victory for women. Shortly after her acceptance speech, Michael Medved questioned whether it was really a victory for women. All this and more on this week’s Journal.

Burt Prelutsky Interview
Self-confessed Hollywood conservative and author Burt Prelutsky talks about his book, Conservatives Are From Mars, Liberals Are From San Francisco. A writer who has been compared by some to Douglas Adams, Prelutsky sears the Left with politically-incorrect subject matter and personal experiences.

Political Pedophilia
Frank coins the phrase political pedophilia this week, to explain how the left uses children to further its causes and agendas. Just as every Communist country and two-bit dictator has done, the Left uses children, a more easily-digested image to represent the so-called disenfranchised, to expand government, elicit sympathy, and make their agenda seem to be a noble cause. But, as John of Staten Island notes, the Left does not care about anything expect power and controlling your lives.
Also, Frank uses postage stamps to explain how America cheapens its values and culture… the execution of Saddam Hussein, and why the Ministry of Lies whined about his execution… the Cold War origins and truth about Khazakstan… Bill Clinton calls in to discuss the week’s events..
