Köpenhamn: Mordförsök på fridfulla demonstranter

UPPDATERING gällande Köpenhamns-demonstrationen: MORDFÖRSÖK PÅ SIOE/SIAD DANMARKS LEDARE OCH MEDLEMMAR

25 oktober, 2007.

SIOE demonstration against the hypocrites from Saudi Arabia.

Sweden: Cop Shooting Manhunt – Update

Update on:

Sweden: Police Officer Shot – Manhunt (Yesterday)

The last update tells us that they now have one man in custody, suspected of involvement in the shooting. The man was one of the people that the police talked to during the night.

They also believe that they have found the car that was used – it’s a DARK car (I thought it was silver colored?) with a damaged front window.

The police also want to come in contact with the driver of a RED car that was standing behind the silver/dark/whatever colored car, and then was seen speeding away in the opposite direction.

It’s still VERY sketchy… Wouldn’t you say? Rolling Eyes

One in Four Swedish Business Owners Subject To Extortion

Extortion against business owners is increasing

In ten years time the number of business owners being victims of extortion has tripled in Sweden. If this type of organized crime is allowed to continue, the police fear that it could become a serious threat to the system, to our Swedish economy, our democracy and entire society.

The police have recently presented a report on extortion against Swedish business owners.

10.000 questionnaires were sent out to businesses around Sweden, and 3660 of them came back answered. The police say that 950 of the questionnaires pointed to extortion.

The number of returned questionnaires might seem very small, but it is enough for them to see that extortion is a very big problem.

A lot of people choose not to report that they have become victims of extortion (out of fear for retaliation, no doubt), and this is something the police will have to work on.

For one, you shouldn’t have to come down to the police station and wait on line to report that you are subject to extortion!

The ones that actually do muster up enough courage to file a report have to be taken care of properly afterwards, with protection and so on. If nobody dares to report that they are being victims of extortion, then the police have no way of getting to the bottom of this type of organized crime.

Still, the number of reports today compared to ten years ago show that people have gotten braver, but most likely – this is what the Swedish police fear – the number of unreported cases has risen at the same rate as the number of reported ones…

Ten years ago there were 447 reports of extortion filed in all of Sweden. In 2006 the number was up to 1240.

In the Västra Götaland region (around Gothenburg) the increase is even higher – from 63 to 219.

FACTS

Number of reports: Extortion and profiteering

1996 All of Sweden: 447 Västra Götaland: 63
2006 All of Sweden: 1 240 Västra Götaland: 219

A few cases of extortion:

2002 – Stockholm. Erik Westerberg, the son of Autoliv’s (an automotive safety systems company) VP Lars Westerberg, is kidnapped. The father hands over a ransom sum in Paris, France. Erik is then released, after being held captive for five days in a Swedish summer house. The kidnappers are arrested.

2005 – Gothenburg. After being forced for quite some time to pay 140.000 Swedish Crowns in “protection money” to the Bandidos (a motorcycle gang) the restaurant owners Shahnaz and Massoud Garakoei on Hisingen goes to the police. Five people are charged with extortion.

2005 – Gothenburg. The owner of Siba (an electronic appliances chain)  Fabian Bengtsson is kidnapped by masked men. After 17 days in captivity in an apartment in GÃ¥rda, he is released. Several people are convicted, a 45 year old is sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Midsummer in Sweden – drunkenness, fights, rape, accidents and death…

Midsummer’s Eve was according to the police “no worse than an ordinary Saturday” – at least here in the Gothenburg area. The heavy rain is most likely the reason why there was very little trouble to be found. A handful of people were taken into custody due to assault, but other than that it has been a very peaceful Midsummer.

Along the west coast about 50 people were taken into custody for drunkenness, a few drunken minors were taken care of as well and one person was arrested for drunk driving. Still, this is what would be expected on an average weekend, according to the police.

Out in Frölunda, one man was arrested suspected of assault at a camping. According to the police, there were two men in their 30’s that had been assaulting a bunch of teenagers at the camping. One teenager was taken to the hospital.

After the heavy rain tapered off around 9 pm at night, trouble hit the streets again…

At a camping south of Halmstad (south of Sweden) there were fifteen people who fought with knives and brass knuckles.

At least ten cars were stopped due to drunk driving at another camping west of Halmstad.

In Lysekil up the west coast the police had confiscated a large amount of beer from minors, and poured it out on the site.

On Gotland, two young men had fallen off the same cliff, south of Visby, but they had no connection to each other. One of the men was only injured, the other one died from the fall. The injured man was rescued, the rescue operation took an hour. How the rescue crew could miss spotting the other man is unknown – he was found dead on Saturday only 40 meters away from where the injured man had been. However, the rescue took place in the middle of the night, and it is unknown when the other man fell down the cliff.

One man died after a motorboat crashed into a sail boat in the Stockholm archipelago.

Another man drowned in a harbor outside Söderhamn.

In Östergötland, one man was reported missing after a boat ride on the lake Glan. He was found dead on Saturday.

In Örebro, one man was arrested after a rape in an apartment.

A teenage girl was raped at a camping at Borgholm on Öland.

In Norrköping, a man had been seriously injured after being stabbed with a knife in his head, chest and abdomen. He was rushed to surgery.

There has also been a number of traffic accidents…

In Halmstad a car was driving on a bicycle/walkway (!), and the car crashed, leaving one man dead and another injured.

In Falun a 16-year old girl died, and two men were injured. The three of them (!) were on a four wheel motorcycle, and collided with a tractor.

In Vällingby a car slammed into three light posts, then crashed into a big rock, flipped over and caught fire. The three men in the car managed to get out alive, but two of them were injured. Apparently the car was going “a bit too fast” at the time of the accident.

In Jämtland there were three car accidents involving drunk drivers, none of them were serious, the people involved weren’t injured, but they will be charged with drunk driving.

“No worse than an ordinary Saturday”…

Swedish Woman Sentenced For Forcing Daughter to have Female Circumcision

The Swedish Supreme Court has now made the final ruling in the case with the 43-year old woman from Mölndal who is charged with, during the summer of 2001, having had her daughter undergo female circumcision during a visit to Somalia.

The sentence is set to three years in prison.

The woman also has to pay 450 000 Swedish Crowns (300 000 for the pain and suffering due to the circumcision and

150 000 for “violating the peace”) to her now 17-year old daughter.

The 43-year old woman herself has denied committing any crime and says that she hasn’t even been abroad at all since she came to Sweden in 1995.

The daughter nowadays live with her father in Gothenburg.

(Sweden introduced the first law of the Western world against female circumcision in 1982)

Last Day for Swedish Firearms Amnesty

Today, Thursday May 31st, is the last day of the Swedish Weapons Amnesty. During the three months that the amnesty has been going on, the police in the Västra Götalands region has gotten around 2000 weapons that have been handed in anonymously.

The weapon amnesty began in March. The thought behind the amnesty is that the number of illegal weapons in the country will decrease. Without the risk of being charged with illegal possession of firearms it has been possible to just go to the police and hand in weapons.

-With the help of the weapon amnesty we can gather up illegal weapons. A lot o these weapons have for example been stolen from homes where the person has passed away, says Ingemar Nilsson, police commissioner in Västra Götaland.

Sweden does have a large amount of weapons, many active hunters and a great deal of weapons passed down through generations. In the Västra Götalands region there are 86 000 holders of weapon licenses and 217 600 registered weapons. Every year 2200 weapons are being reported stolen or misplaced throughout the country.

The first time that Sweden had a weapon amnesty was in 1993 and then the police in the Västra Götaland collected2121 weapons and parts of weapons and 2 tons of ammunitions.

This year it has been a bit slower. The police estimate a lesser amount of weapons, but more ammunition.

Exactly how many weapons have been handed in is still unclear. On June 10th they will have completed the count. After that the results are to be reported to the government.

Among the weapons handed in to the police in Västra Götaland there is everything from historical weapons to modern automatic weapons. All weapons that have been handed in that no one makes a claim for (some of them have been stolen and will be given back to the rightful owner if possible) end up at the governments criminal technicians laboratory where they will be destroyed.

Swede Arrested for Breaking INTO JAIL

A 47 year old man from Gothenburg is being charged with breaking an entry – into the police house on Skånegatan! This is an old incident, from back in 2005 around Christmas time.

The man had then earlier during the evening been taken in due to disorderly conduct. He was released, but returned, and was said to be in an “unstable condition”.

He claimed to be afraid of somebody or something, but was told to leave the reception. He then asked if he could use the bathroom. On his way to the bathroom, he saw another door, which he picked by using a nail file.

After that he got into an elevator and pushed all the buttons. The elevator finally stopped up on the seventh floor, which is where the jail is. There the man asked if he could come in and sit down on a chair.

A couple of minutes later he was arrested for breaking an entry. He confesses to his crime, without any objections.

The man’s name showed up in an ongoing case regarding drunk driving. He has also been involved in investigations concerning abuse, drugs and weapons.
